Happy 70th Anniversary Puffin!

If you’re a lover of pretty looking books like me, AND you’ve got a couple of grand to spare (NOT like me), then check these out:

Oliver Twist designed by artist Sir Peter Blake

Around the World in Eighty Days designed by architect David Adjaye

James and the Giant Peach designed by sculptor Antony Gormley

Treasure Island designed by architect and sculptor Frank Gehry

Little Women designed by fashion designer Orla Kiely

And my personal favourite…The Secret Garden designed by author and illustrator, Lauren Child

As it is Puffin’s 70th anniversary (congrats!), the designers of today have reworked six classic Puffin publications. There are exactly 1000 of these limited edition beauties in circulation, (but unfortunately now sold out) retailing at £100!!

However, should you be feeling exceptionally generous, Puffin are selling a complete set of these books on Ebay with all money being donated to AMREF UK and the Guardian’s Katine project.

This is the only full numbered and signed set in existence – all the other books have been sold separately. The reserve set on this auction – £1000 – reflects the rarity and value of this beautiful set of books.

After only 9 bids the reserve price has already been met, and with an entire 5 days still to go, these rarities look set to make raise a fair amount of cash. Get bidding, or just have a nosy here!
